Pacesetters Christian University (PCU) Scholarship Program
At Pacesetters Christian University (PCU), we believe that education is a divine mandate that transforms lives and communities. Our scholarship program is designed to remove financial barriers for individuals who are hungry for education but lack the financial capacity to pursue it. Through this program, we seek to raise Christ-centered leaders, innovators, and reformers who will impact their world for the Kingdom of God.
Purpose of the Scholarship Program
The PCU Scholarship Program exists to:
Empower academically capable and spiritually committed students with limited financial means.
Promote excellence, leadership, and Christian values within and beyond the university.
Provide opportunities for students to serve their communities and churches while advancing their education.
Types of Scholarships
The University offers the following categories:
1. Full Scholarship – Covers tuition and other academic-related costs.
2. Partial Scholarship – Covers a portion of tuition or specific academic expenses.
3. Merit-Based Scholarship – Awarded to students with outstanding academic records, leadership, or ministry involvement.
4. Need-Based Scholarship – Awarded to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
5. Special Category Scholarship – Targeted support for orphans, single parents, missionaries, and other designated groups.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
Be formally admitted into a program at PCU.
Demonstrate financial need and/or exceptional merit.
Exhibit strong Christian character and active involvement in church or community service.
Maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent.
Provide at least two letters of recommendation (academic and pastoral/community).-
Application Process
Applicants must complete the PCU Scholarship Application Form (available online).
Submit all required documents, including:
Personal statement / essay of 500–800 words explaining career goals, financial need, and commitment to Christian service.
Academic transcripts.
Letters of recommendation.
Proof of financial status (where applicable).
Applications must be submitted by the announced deadline for each academic session.
Selection Process
Ascholarship committeee, appointed by the university senatee, will review applications.
Selection is based on a balanced assessment of financial need, academic merit, Christian character, and leadership potential.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview.
All decisions of the committee are final.
Award Conditions
Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis and may be renewed upon review.
Recipients must Maintained the required GPA.
Abide by the PCU code of conduct.
Participate in at least 20 hours per semester of approved community service, church ministry, or university projects.
Provide progress reports when requested.
Failure to meet these conditions may result in withdrawal or suspension of the scholarship.
Funding and Sustainability
Scholarships are funded through donations, partnerships, endowments, and contributions from alumni, churches, and organizations.
PCU is committed to financial transparency in administering the scholarship funds.
Donors may establish named scholarships in partnership with the university.
Duration and Renewal
Scholarships are typically valid for one academic year and renewable subject to performance review.
Students must reapply annually, submitting updated transcripts and a renewal application.
Review and Amendment
This policy shall be reviewed every three years or as deemed necessary by the University Council.
Amendments may be made to reflect evolving needs and priorities.
