Accreditation in the U.S
The United States has no Federal Ministry of Education or other centralized authority exercising single national control over postsecondary educational institutions in this country. The States assume varying degrees of control over education, but, in general, institutions of higher education are permitted to operate with considerable independence and autonomy. As a consequence, American educational institutions can vary widely in the character and quality of their programs. There is no mandate by federal law for a School, College or University to be accredited.
Accreditation in the United States is awarded by non-US governmental agencies. Accreditation is strictly a voluntary option in the United States.
In our unwavering commitment to excellence in education and the development of our students, Pacesetters Christian University has taken significant steps to enhance our academic standards. As part of this commitment, the university pursued accreditation from the American Council of Training and Development (ACTD), a distinguished body recognized for its rigorous evaluation of educational institutions. We are proud to announce that Pacesetters Christian University has successfully met all the requirements and has been officially approved for accreditation. This milestone not only affirms the quality of education we provide but also strengthens our dedication to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation necessary to excel in their personal, professional, and spiritual lives.
We are not stopping there. Pacesetters Christian University is also actively pursuing additional membership and accreditation from the Christian College Accreditation Commission International (CCACI), and the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) further demonstrating our commitment to global standards of academic excellence and Christian higher education.
Pacesetters Christian University affirms its commitment to maintaining full independence from any federal, state, or privately controlled agency that may impose restrictions incompatible with our core mission. We are dedicated to ensuring complete religious freedom within our curriculum and student body, allowing us to provide education that is fully aligned with our Christian values and principles.
Students who intend to transfer our credits are strongly encouraged to consult in advance with any educational institution they plan to attend regarding the acceptance and transferability of credits earned at Pacesetters Christian University. This ensures that students make informed decisions and are fully aware of how their academic work will be recognized by other institutions.
Exemptions and Permissions
The religious exemption in Texas is handled by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, not the “SBICU,” and is only available to institutions offering strictly religious degree programs. This board grants exemptions for religious institutions that offer degrees solely for religious vocations. No oversight for religious-only degrees. The THECB does not regulate private postsecondary institutions that offer degrees only in religious disciplines. In 2007, the Texas Supreme Court ruled that the THECB could not constitutionally apply its regulations to a religious institution’s program of religious instruction, though its authority to regulate secular programs was upheld.
Pacesetters Christian University, operating under the doing business as (DBA) name of Pacesetters Christian Institutes Inc., is a registered non-profit organization with the State of Texas (File Number: 806216594).
At Pacesetters Christian University, we are committed to equipping leaders, innovators, and reformers with both academic excellence and spiritual depth, preparing them to impact their communities and the Kingdom of God.
